Mile End Road, London

A strategically located 4.5 acre site purchased from Bass Holdings Ltd, partly situated in a conservation area incorporating a listed building on Mile End Road in London. Complex negotiations with the planners and English Heritage were required before constructing this substantial development of 4,181 sq m (45,000 sq ft) of non-food retail.

The development comprised three large non-food units let to; Currys 1,858 sq m (20,000 sq ft), Halfords 929 sq m (10,000 sq ft) and PC world 1,394 sq m (15,000 sq ft). Part of this site was planned for residential and two parcels of land were sold for residential development. The listed building was later sold for offices to a legal firm.

Investment sold in 2001 to Henderson Investors on behalf of N.P.I. for a price in excess of 12m.
